A life affirming story of two strangers; two lost souls; and a bridge that connected them

Amit Biswas is a remarkable first-time feature film director with skills far beyond even the most seasoned of film makers. The sensitive story is of two strangers in despair, one of them finding enough strength and compassion to help the other one find a way through grief and seemingly impossible situation to live again, the final scene adding another fine layer of astonishing film making without a trace of sentimentality, a rare gift when dealing with such a subject. Bridge amply shows Indian life via this storyline with all its complexities and hierarchies without chapter and verse, the viewer allowed to fill in the gaps, another reason for admiring the direction which takes a leaf from European or World cinema rather than the American way of ticking all the boxes. Boxes to be ticked, however, are the exceptional camerawork, the locations and the remarkable acting of not only Soumitro Chatterjee, a leading Bengal actor who has worked with prominent director Satayajit Ray on many films, but all other actors. Winner of several film festivals including the most recent, Chichester International Film Festival’s Audience Award for the Low Budget Independent Film category.

Every shot was perfect and the lighting was exquisite, an absolute joy to watch. The main actor was as great as expected and the main actress gave a brilliant performance. A really powerful and positive message about mental health.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent work. Really impressed by your attention to details e.g. the toothbrush Soumitra used had typical worn out look. Photography was superb. The view through the spider web - wow. The performance of the actors also spot on.
